The Chamber is run by a member elected Board of Directors who serve without pay, representing the membership and setting the policies for the Chamber.
Reasons To Join The Chamber
Local Company Exposure and Referral Service - The Chamber coordinates Ribbon Cuttings & press releases for Chamber members opening a new business along with sponsoring Open House Events for existing members. Members are also encouraged to host member luncheons to introduce themselves, their wares and their services available to the community.
Internet Exposure - The Chamber has developed a Website (www.monroecountykychamber.com) and Facebook page (Tompkinsville-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce) to promote our members. Member listing is free and your Website is linked free of charge.
Voice in Community Direction - The Chamber is your business advocate on the local, regional, state and national level through our attendance at local government meetings.
Networking and Social Networking - The Chamber coordinates monthly meetings, committee meetings, presentations, member luncheons and ladies luncheons. We are working hand-in-hand with the newly formed Downtown Revitalization Committee to beautify downtown Tompkinsville.
Leadership, Training and Education - The Chamber sponsors seminars and workshops on marketing, human resources, finance, taxes technology and more, offered on a periodic basis.
Publications - Newspaper exposure through articles and announcements and email updates on events and workshops.
Annual Chamber Activities - The Chamber hosts events such as the "Golf Scramble", Chamber Radio Membership Drive, Main Street events (summer "Friday On Main" entertainment series) and receptions.
Window Decals - The Chamber has decals to show community involvement.
Collaboration - The Chamber is working with City, County and Civic Organizations for promoting our community through Tourism and Festivals.
Annual Banquet - The Chamber holds each year a banquet for the members when awards are made for Lange and Small Businesses of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Lifetime Achievement Award. In addition a new Board of Directors for the upcoming year is elected. The New Board will begin the following January.
The beginning of the new year is time to pay Chamber of Commerce dues.
